Product Description

The Porter eAVS (Electronic Automatic Vacuum Switch) system is an advanced accessory designed to work seamlessly with the Porter Midas™ Digital Touchscreen Flowmeter, offering healthcare professionals precise, automated control over the scavenging of exhaled nitrous oxide during conscious sedation procedures.
  • Precision Scavenger Control: The eAVS provides electronic regulation of vacuum flow rates, ensuring efficient removal of exhaled waste anaesthetic gases from the patient breathing circuit. This helps maintain ambient nitrous oxide concentrations below recommended exposure limits, supporting compliance with safety standards such as the ACGIH-recommended 50 ppm threshold.
  • Integrated Safety: The system incorporates a valve to control vacuum flow, an airflow sensor for real-time measurement, and a control board that communicates directly with the Midas Flowmeter. Audible and visual alerts notify operators of system status or any deviations, enhancing patient and staff safety.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The Porter Midas Flowmeter features a digital touchscreen with intuitive Touch and Slide™ controls, allowing clinicians to easily adjust gas concentrations and flow rates. The eAVS can be managed directly from the touchscreen, with on-screen feedback for scavenger flow rates.
  • Automated and Reliable: By automating the scavenging process, the eAVS reduces manual intervention, lowers the risk of operator error, and ensures consistent performance throughout procedures.
  • Flexible Installation: The eAVS is compatible with various vacuum controllers and integrates smoothly into both portable and remote-mount configurations of the Midas Flowmeter system. Its compact design (5cm in W x 8cm H x 17cm D) allows for easy installation in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Data and Connectivity: Procedure data can be exported via the Porter Midas App and iPad™, supporting digital record-keeping and compliance documentation.

Includes the Midas eAVS Auto-Scavenging system - With Cable & Hardware replacement/accessory component as listed; no additional pack contents are specified in the body description.

TRAVELING WITH A OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR
The FAA allows these device on board most U.S. aircrafts. If they have a FAA approval, they should allow the oxygen concentrator on board with the supply of the MSDS document.

IMPORTANT:It is the responsibility of the patient to check with the specific airline carrier when traveling domestically and internationally.

Just because a oxygen concentrator is FAA approved, does not automatically mean a customer will be allowed to take the machine on the plane. It is up to the discretion of every flight, airline, airline pilot etc if the machines or batteries are allowed to be carried on board.

When traveling with the device, be sure to bring the AC Power Supply and the External Battery Charger (if you have one) with you. It is advisable to use external power (i.e., plugged into a wall) whenever it is available to keep the battery fully charged. Bring enough charged batteries with you to power your concentrator for no less than 150% of the expected duration of your flight, ground time before and after the flight, security screenings, connections and a conservative estimate for unanticipated delays. Note that per FAA regulations, all extra batteries are to be individually wrapped and protected to prevent short circuits and carried in carry-on baggage onboard aircraft only. The AC Power Supply cannot be used to charge the device battery when onboard aircraft. If traveling by bus, train or boat, contact your carrier to find out about power port availability.
